During the Phases of the Moon activity, which is ideal for grades 5-7, students will learn why the Moon appears to change shape during each month. Through two activities, students will explore the eight phases of the Moon as seen from Earth during a lunar cycle. 

By the end of the activity students should be able to:

• Understand why the moon changes phases
• Describe the phases of the moon
