In Scale Solar System inquiry activity, which is ideal for grades 5-7, students will learn about the solar system by studying the eight planets. Through this activity, students will create a detailed and scaled model of their assigned planet and replicate the way which the planets orbit the sun. This class uses teamwork and collaboration within the class to complete the activity.

By the end of the activity students should be able to:

• Understand the movement of objects in the sky (such as stars and planets) is predictable
• Identify characteristics of other planets in our solar system
